Logically Builds IT Confidence for Family-Owned Building Product Company

About Nystrom

Founded in 1948, Nystrom is a family-owned building products company based in Minneapolis. Nystrom is a manufacturer of commercial building products, with a 10-line product portfolio serving construction professionals and architects. The company markets to building owners, contractors and subcontractors operating around the world. Today, Nystrom has 180 manufacturing and business support employees with an extensive national partner network throughout North America. Sue Thomas is Nystrom’s CEO and has been with the business for over 30 years. Her current tech team consists of an external CIO consultant and an internal IT team of 4 people. As the head of Nystrom, she has relied on Logically (formerly NG2) for the past 20 years.

IT Challenge

Like many other companies, Nystrom was faced with quickly moving employees off-site and setting them up to work successfully from home. To ease the transition, Logically helped the company distribute and set up laptops. “I would say overall it was very seamless. We got people home and set up within a couple of weeks. It was quick and I was pretty impressed,” said Ms. Thomas. Logically managed Nystrom’s physical and cloud servers before the pandemic, enabling them to back up remotely. During the transition to working from home, the ability to connect to these servers became essential.
